Vahan Tracer is a vehicle tracking application designed for
business operators to monitor their fleet in real time. This Privacy Policy
explains what information we handle, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information
with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.
1Information We Collect
Vahan Tracer collects only the minimum information required to provide the service:
- Login credentials — username and password entered by the user to authenticate with the Vahan Tracer server.
- Authentication token — a session token returned by the server after successful login, stored securely on your device.
- Vehicle data — location coordinates, speed, ignition status, and other telemetry data received from the server for vehicles assigned to your account. This data originates from GPS devices installed on the vehicles — the app only displays it.
The app does not access your device's GPS, camera, microphone,
contacts, call logs, or any other device sensor or personal file.
2How We Use Your Information
The information collected is used solely for the following purposes:
- To authenticate you and maintain your login session
- To display real-time vehicle location and status on the map
- To show vehicle history and fleet statistics for your account
No information is used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
3Data Storage and Security
Your data is handled as follows:
- On-device storage — only your authentication token and username are saved locally using Android DataStore (encrypted storage). Your password is never stored on the device.
- Server communication — all API calls are made to the Vahan Tracer server. Data is transmitted over an encrypted connection.
- No cloud sync — the app has
allowBackup=false, meaning your data is never backed up to Google servers.
- Session management — logging out immediately clears all locally stored tokens and credentials.
4Permissions Used
Vahan Tracer requests only two permissions:
INTERNET
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
- INTERNET — required to communicate with the Vahan Tracer server to fetch vehicle data and authenticate users.
- ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — used to check whether the device has an active internet connection before making API calls.
The app does not request location, camera, storage, contacts,
phone, or any other sensitive permission.
5Third-Party Services
Vahan Tracer uses the following third-party service:

Google Maps SDK for Android — used to display the map and
vehicle location marker. Google's own
Privacy Policy
applies to map usage.
No analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or crash reporting services are integrated in this app.
6Data Sharing
We do not share your personal data with any third party except:
- When required by law or valid legal process
- To protect the rights or safety of users
Vehicle location data is shared only with the authorized operator account that owns those vehicles.
7Children's Privacy
Vahan Tracer is intended for business use by adults. The app is not directed
at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information
from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information,
please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8Your Rights
As a user of Vahan Tracer, you have the right to:
- Access — request information about what data is stored about you
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data
- Logout — immediately clear all locally stored session data by logging out
