Vahan Tracer — Fleet & Vehicle Tracking App

Vahan Tracer ("we," "our," "us") provides a mobile app that lets fleet owners and operators view the real-time location, status, and activity history of vehicles fitted with GPS tracking hardware, and manage a "Secure Vehicle" anti-theft monitoring feature for them. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the Vahan Tracer Android app and this website.
The app displays location, speed, ignition status, geofence status, fuel level, and similar telemetry for the vehicles on your account. This data originates from GPS tracking devices installed in those vehicles and is retrieved from our server — the app never reads your phone's own GPS, location sensors, camera, contacts, or files to produce this information.
When you arm the "Secure Vehicle" feature for a vehicle, the vehicle's current coordinates ("secure point") are saved on your device and sent to our server, so the app and server can detect if the vehicle later moves away from that point. This data is removed from your device automatically when you disarm the feature, or when you log out.
Your Settings choices — alert sound, notification, and vibration toggles, and light/dark theme — are stored only on your device and are never sent to our server.
The app requests the following Android permissions. We do not request device location (GPS), camera, microphone, contacts, or SMS permissions at any point.

"Secure Vehicle" is an opt-in, per-vehicle anti-theft feature. When you arm it for a vehicle, the app runs a background service that checks that vehicle's server-reported location roughly every 20 seconds — including while the app is closed or your phone is locked — so it can alert you if the vehicle moves away from where you secured it.
If a monitored vehicle is reported away from its secure point, the app can, according to your Settings, play an alarm tone, vibrate the device, and/or show a high-priority notification. None of this involves reading your phone's own location or sensors — the alert is triggered entirely by the vehicle's server-reported GPS position.
The app lets you generate Daily Summary, Geofence, Ignition, and Vehicle Status reports for
your fleet and export them as PDF files. These files are saved locally to your device's
Downloads/vahantracker folder and are not uploaded anywhere by us — they exist
only on your device once downloaded, the same as any other file you save from an app. Since
files placed in Downloads are visible to your device's file manager and any app you grant
access to that folder, avoid sharing your device, or clear old exports, if the report data
(vehicle location, speed, timings) is sensitive to you.
No information is used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
The app uses the Google Maps SDK to render vehicle positions on a map. Google's handling of any data this SDK processes is governed by Google's own Privacy Policy. We do not integrate any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs of our own.
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information: your password is never stored on the device, your session token and locally-cached data live in the app's private sandboxed storage, backups are disabled, and traffic to our servers travels over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we continue to review and improve these measures.
Vahan Tracer is a fleet-management tool intended for business and vehicle-owner use. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
We may update this policy as the app's features change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
